Fouad Saeg, B.S. is a third-year medical student at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he is a DeBakey Research Scholar and the recipient of the William Strange Memorial, the Frank P. Tagliarini, and the Howard and Brenda B. Sheridan Scholarships. He has served as Vice President of the Tulane Medical Entrepreneurship Interest Group and is the founder and current President of Team Wound Healing. He recently led Team Wound Healing to a third-place victory at the Tulane University 5th Annual Novel Technology Competition, where he presented the novel use of surface microtopography in an amniotic tissue-based regenerative biologic.

Fouad Saeg grew up in Los Angeles, California and completed his undergraduate education at the University of California in Los Angeles, where he graduated magna cum laude from the College of Letters & Sciences' Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with Highest Departmental Honors in Research. He was also awarded the Lew and Edie Wasserman Scholarship, given to students with extraordinary academic merit and superior personal qualities.

His current research interests are predominantly around limb salvage, the treatment of complex wounds, breast cancer and tissue engineering. In 2019, Fouad was awarded “Best Paper” for his podium presentation titled, “Cost Analysis of a Tissue Engineering Approach to Limb Salvage”, at the Louisiana Chapter American College of Surgeons Annual Meeting. Fouad was also invited to speak at the American Association of Plastic Surgeons 98th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, where he presented a novel technique for soft tissue reconstruction of pediatric extremities.

Fouad Saeg lives in New Orleans, Louisiana with his wife and their dachshund. He enjoys SCUBA diving, fishing, camping and dabbling in stocks, entrepreneurship, and web development.
