Hey, I’m

Fouad Saeg.

But my friends call me

“Foo-dee”.

Here’s what I’ve done so far.

Marina Plastic Surgery

West Hills Hospital & Medical Center

Emergency Department Volunteer, since February 2016

Since my first day, I realized that I loved being around patients. Checking on the patient and their family has taught me empathy more than anything and further exposed me to the complications of emergency medicine.

Los Angeles, California

UCLA was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to world-renowned faculty, I have expanded my knowledge of life on earth at the cellular and molecular level and was awarded the department’s highest honor in research. Go Bruins!

University of California, Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California

The minor in biomedical research allowed me to integrate my education with cutting-edge, hypothesis-driven research. The program included analysis of research literature, oral presentation of data, and science policy and ethics.

Instantlancer

Co-founder & CEO, since November 2014
Los Angeles, California

Growing Instantlancer from an initial idea to a fully functioning, cloud-based platform with over 500 active users has been a remarkable experience for me. As a result, I look forward to continuing to use technology for social good.

Banerjee Laboratory

Research Assistant, from June 2013 – June 2015
Los Angeles, California

Professor Utpal Banerjee’s lab uses Drosophila as a model organism to genetically dissect normal cell development. Using tissue-specific RNAi, I investigated environmental factors that communicate with mitochondria.

Operation Mend

In addition to providing injured veterans with advanced surgical and medical treatments, Operation Mend connects patients with local families that provide psychosocial and emotional support through the Buddy Family program.

Charles Drew University of Medicine

Research Assistant, Summer 2013
Los Angeles, California

The Cancer Cluster at CDU has taught me how to think about disease and illness with respect to the underserved community. Through journal clubs, I learned about the many challenges facing healthcare providers in South LA.

Rotaract

President, from November 2011 – January 2013
Los Angeles, California

Rotaract is a student-run community service organization. In my capacity as president, I increased membership by over 600% and negotiated an 8-week service agreement that raised the club over $15,000 in donations.

Math & Science Tutoring

Head Tutor, since July 2009
Los Angeles, California

If you’re looking for a tutor, then look no further. Whether you need help preparing for a chemistry test or just need to bring up your GPA, I can help. I have a passion for teaching and love sharing the “aha” moment. Shoot me a text!

A little more about me.

SCUBA diving, cycling, fine cooking, puppy raising, and the saxophone.

My favorite quote.
